Writing | Photography | Activism | Digital Communications | Public Speaking

Delia Harrington is a digital communications professional who has been working in non-profits and international development since 2008. She is also a freelance writer, documentary photographer, and grassroots activist. Delia has traveled the world telling nuanced, high-impact stories for everyone from mission-driven organizations to travel outlets, always with a social justice lens. She wrote, interviewed, and photographed her way through the Dominican Republic, Cuba, southern India, Uganda, and Kenya.
Delia graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs. Her undergraduate work focused on field research in microfinance and international development as the geographic regions of Latin America and MENA (Middle East and North Africa.) A feature of her education was the co-op program and international experiences. Co-ops are six-month, full-time work experiences, and obtaining positions is competitive. Delia pursued three co-ops, one of which was abroad, in non-profits.
She has contributed her skills to contribute to a variety of high-impact, mission-driven organizations, including Amnesty International, Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, Accion, Hollaback!, and Planned Parenthood. Her international experiences include studying Arabic in Egypt, consulting with a women's micro-enterprise in Benin, microfinance field research evaluating social impact in the Dominican Republic, and leading college students in Cuba and Greece.
Delia is a traveling populist who has spent her life trying to learn from everyone she meets, from Cuba to Cairo, Dorchester to the Dominican Republic, and everywhere in between. She loves science fiction, Bruce Springsteen, cheeseburgers, and the Oxford Comma.
